Since 1959, Men Who Dare, Inc., has awarded over 750 scholarships to college/trade school-bound students who had limited resources to achieve their higher education goals.—
Since its inception in 1959, Men Who Dare (MWD) has been dedicated to assisting financially disadvantaged students in their pursuit of education. The group's roots can be traced back to the First Baptist Institutional Church of Hamtramck, where they initially came together to raise funds for a church member's college tuition. This act of generosity and solidarity ultimately led to the formal establishment of MWD in September 1959, with an initial membership of 13 individuals. The name Men Who Dare encapsulates their unwavering dedication to empowering and enabling young people to achieve their educational aspirations.

In June 1964, Men Who Dare, Inc., was incorporated and chartered as a non-profit organization by the State of Michigan. The Federal Government, the Department of Internal Revenue, granted the organization a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in December 1966.
